There is a duty of care on the developer to provide clear and accurate plans for excavations close to buried services.

Plans of all the locations, configuration and number of buried services should be obtained before any excavation work starts.

SafeGround offers a PAS 128 QL-D Desk Based Study service to obtain all available statutory records from a range of owners and operators, and to consolidate the information onto an integrated CAD digital site plan. Optional topographic base mapping and other site information can be overlain if required.

The plan is then verified through additional tracing and location, as plans submitted by utility providers are often inaccurate.
